My last post about dofollow was about a month ago, and as you can see SWR is still a dofollow blog. I’m really sorry it took me so long to write again on this blog, things have been pretty crazy (but a good kind of ‘crazy‘).

So What’s Going On?

A lot of things. Most of you already know I started a multi-author blog a couple months ago, thing are going really good. That’s keeping me very busy. And I’ve also been very busy designing and customizing blogs, and building my portfolio site, which is not yet fully functional but should be soon (I have no idea how it looks like in IE, I’m still working on it, but it should look ok in FireFox). While I was checking some stats, I noticed traffic coming from “some websites“, at first I didn’t mind, I mean who wouldn’t want some free traffic? But after doing a little more research, I found some sites that I are kinda going against what I believe in when it comes to commenting on blogs. I believe it’s about conversations and adding value to discussions.

Ok, most of you know that this blog is “DoFollow“, meaning when you write a comment you get a link back to your site. And some PR checker tools are returning a PR5 for this blog. (don’t worry, this post is not really about PageRank)

I think you’re starting to see where I’m going….

So there is over 4,500 comments on this blog, that means I give quite a bit of link love. That I don’t mind, I think dofollow is an awesome way of rewarding people that take the time to leave comments. [Read more →]

Well, the goal was to get 1000 subscribers in the first month. Which would have been quite awesome, but it didn’t happen. Instead, it took 3 months to get 1261 RSS readers. Don’t get me wrong, I think this is pretty nice! :)

Sometimes you gotta aim high, and then re-adjust. That’s what I did.

So, since every single blogger out there has a post on how you can increase your RSS numbers, I thought I’d write one too (no “sure-fire ways” post here, just my personal experience)! :) [Read more →]

Yep, October 15 is Blog Action Day. A project started by Collis and Cyan of FreelanceSwitch and Leo of ZenHabits. There’s around 15,500 blogs participating (including the Official Google Blog and the YouTube Blog), pretty cool heh? :)

All of my earnings from SWR today will go to the World Wildlife Foundation/Save Our Climate. I donated money to the WWF before, and I think today is a great occasion to contribute again, and maybe help a little. Cause even “a little” helps. :) [Read more →]

There’s been a lot of talk about the new Radiohead album, “In Rainbows” on the net lately. The band decided it was time for a change, and decided to put the new album online, and let people pay whatever amount they want and download it or order discbox (40EUR). Awesome!

You may have heard about this new site, they were in private beta (invites only) and they just launched yesterday, it’s called Cre8buzz. I’ve been waiting for the launch since Antman told me about it, and finally they’re up and running, congrats to the team! (and thanks a lot to Ritu of Work N Play for the invite) :)

So What Is It Exactly?

Cre8buzz is basically a social networking/community site. You create a profile, add some details, a picture and voila! But the folks at Cre8buzz kinda pushed things a little further, and you can also add podcasts, blog posts, create a video gallery and customize the looks of your profile page. [Read more →]

Most of you probably already knew that David Airey was holding a contest on his Graphic Design Blog, to celebrate the fact his blog just turned 1. The contest is over, and with over $4,000 in prizes and 28 winners, it was definitely a success.
