Writing Articles for Directory Services
UPDATED May 2009
I stumbled across one or two blog posts today mentioning the importance of submitting articles to articles directories to get links back and increase your link popularity. Getting links back to your website will most definitely get you more visitors and at the same time help your improve your sales results. Good! how do we do this? (comments welcome, share your opinions)
Well I started writing texts and articles a while back and submitted some of them to articles directories, and I’m getting more visitors on some of my sites. For example if i would write an article about health, I would of course mention in my signature that I work in mlm and put the link to my Immunotec website there, which works real good! Oh and by the way, you DO want your articles picked-up by major search engines like Google, Yahoo and others!
Most articles directories will let you put from 1 to 3 links in your sig box! (from what I know)
That’s a really good way to get more visitors! But there’s one thing you have to keep in mind… When you submit your articles, make sure that the link you put in your sig box links to a webpage/website that is relevant to the content of your article. If your article is about real estate, and you have your real estate business website simply put a link in your signature box or author’s bio! Makes sense huh?
I’ve seen a lot of articles browsing thru directories where the link in the author’s box goes to a site that is completely irrelevant to the content of the article! Make sure what you write about is in your field of expertise (you know a lot of stuff about cars? well write about that!) and always proof-read and correct your texts for punctuation, grammar and syntax!
Here is something i found interesting (view blog post)
Writing articles about your topic and placing them on other web sites can give you inbound links via the article signature. If you submit articles to other sites, you may want to create unique content just for the article submission sites or have a longer or different version of the article on your site so that you are not fighting against duplicate content issues when others syndicate your articles.
That’s it!
