Guest Blogging - Does It Rock?

Hey, seems you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Yes it does! One sure-fire way to get more attention to your own blog is to guest blog on other blogs. Sounds pretty simple, yet a lot of writers don’t do it. But why?

  • Afraid the article/post won’t get published
  • Don’t know where to guest blog
  • Not sure what to blog about
  • Don’t know the blog owner
  • Don’t want to write for free
  • Not sure if it’s worth the efforts
  • Don’t have time
  • Writing For Free? No Way!

We all want to be rewarded for our efforts, money is one thing, but what about increasing your readership and getting more exposure? It’ll probably make you more money in the long run anyway. It sure is fun to get paid for writing a post, but it depends on your goals. [Read more →]

The Ultimate List Of Personal Development Blogs

Lists are extremely popular among bloggers, not only because of the links you can get from being on those lists, but also because you can discover new sites you would’ve never heard of otherwise. Many of the blogs on this list I read regularly, but I found a lot of new blogs also.

I’m a sucker for everything that has to do with personal development. So I had to join this project :)

I’m not a big fan of lists though, in fact I asked to have my blogs removed from a couple of lists that were floating around the blogosphere, but this is a list I’m particularily proud to be on.

My blogs are not necessarily about personal development, but I guess they fit on the list.

This was started by Priscilla Palmer, and already the list is quite long. Feel free to add to the list if you feel your blog or a blog you know would fit on there.

Here it is: [Read more →]

Corporate Meeting - Sounds Like Digg Traffic

For those of you who haven’t seen this video yet, here it is. ;)

Those folks made a video of a fake corporate meeting, but with a “blogging turned bad” twist (can you spot the trolls?)

Lookout for spam around the end, CAPTCHA is pretty effective I guess.

“when things turn bad in a comment section” - Video not suitable for everyone.

I’ve seen worse comments than the ones in the video on some posts on Digg. ;)

Writing Kick-Ass Posts When You’re In A Rush

Writers get writer’s block, and bloggers get blogger’s block.

But what if you do have a lot of ideas, and know what you want to write about, but don’t have time? Can you still run a blog and update it, say, 5 times a week?

    Sure you can.

I find that my best posts (the ones that got the most traffic and comments) were written when I was in a rush, as in “I have to leave the house in 20 minutes, gotta write something“.

Start With Writing A Headline And Sub-Headlines

Often when you start by writing the headline, it’s easier to write the post (works for me). So, choose a topic related to your niche, write a headline (doesn’t have to be perfect yet), then write around 5 sub-headlines, so it’ll be easier to write the whole post. [Read more →]

    WordPress Themes Revolution

Brian Gardner recently released a new wordpress theme called Revolution, which looks really really promising.

The reason I’m writing about this, is because it’s not a free wordpress theme (and no, this is not a sponsored review).

Many of you reading my blog are bloggers and web designers, so look at it this way:

You create wordpress themes, people download your themes for free, and since you put your link in the footer, you get tons of incoming links (kinda), but you make no money. So, of course, many bloggers are offering people to sponsor their themes. Which helps those designers make some money. Some agree with this, some don’t. [Read more →]

What Are You Blogging About? - 2 Blogging Challenges/Events You Don’t Wanna Miss

BloggersUnite Against Abuse - September 27th

BloggersUnite Against AbuseSome time ago Tony at BlogCatalog announced a new “blogging challenge“, blogging against abuse, any kind of abuse. This will take place on September 27th. You can read about it on the official BlogCatalog Blog and on the Discussion Board.

The goal is to get as many bloggers as possible to post about “abuse” on the same day, and if some feel charitable, give some money to organizations (you choose which ones). Simply a nice way to “give back“. Anyone can enter this challenge, just have to post about it on September 27th, if you’re a member of BlogCatalog, check out the discussion board. [Read more →]

    Getting Rid Of The Middleman

There I was, surfing the net, reading a couple of posts on some blogs, and I found this post on Elizabeth-Rose that talks about selling text links on Ebay. What a cool idea!

Most bloggers/writers I know use Text Link Ads to sell text links and increase their income (maybe you do?), but the thing is, TLA takes a huge cut, so if you sell a link for $30, you usually end up getting just $15 (more or less).

Don’t get me wrong, I really like TLA, basically because the support is great and they are well-known and have a lot of sites/blogs in their marketplace, but still… what if I could get that whole $30 instead of just $15? [Read more →]

7 Things Entrepreneurs Do That Others Don’t

There are a lot of things that differentiate successful people from unsuccessful people, and everyone has his/her own way of measuring success, since you can be really successful, say in your relationships, but really bad in business, it all depends on the goals and the contexts. But successful entrepreneurs usually have a couple of things in common.

    They Are Networking Machines

This is something I learned when I was involved with a network marketing company (which didn’t last long). You have to get out there, and network with people. There this quote I really like, it may help you get what I mean:

[…] You cannot succeed by yourself. It´s hard to find a rich hermit […] Jim Rohn

Most entrepreneurs have a really close network of friends they can rely on when needed, and they’re always working on expanding that circle. The right friends do make a huge difference. The more like-minded people put together, the greater the results can be. [Read more →]

    I’m Listening! :)

As you can see I changed the design (again) on SmartWealthyRich. Yesterday I put a new design up, but, ya know, you have to listen to your people, so I decided to make some changes.

I know Snoskred was a big fan of the green arrow I had in the logo before, so I decided to put the arrow back, not green, but it’s there ;)

Rob thought the big “seal” in the logo was a little overwhelming, and looking back I have to agree, so that is gone!

Baloot said the text in the header was a little hard to read, I think it’s fixed now! [Read more →]

I’ll Keep This One For A While I Think

New Design - Smart Wealthy Rich

Since my first post on this blog, a lot of things have changed, especially when talking design, I’ve had 4 or 5 designs, but none of them I found were cool enough. So once again, back to the drawing board.

I have a feeling I will stick to that new design for a while :)
If you’re reading through RSS, please come have a look!

My last 2 designs were built on the Cutline theme (Chris Pearson), and the ones before that were based on the K2 theme. [Read more →]
