Today is the “Blogging Against Abuse” day. The idea is to post something related to “abuse“, any type of abuse. This may sound a little vague, but on the other hand, that means whatever the type of blog you run, no matter what niche, you can participate and still stay on topic. :)

The “Stop The Abuse” idea came from the cool folks at BlogCatalog, and of course I had to join in, especially cause I think it’s a great idea, but I also have some things I want to share.

You meet a lot of nice people online, especially when you run a blog, but unfortunately you also meet the not-so-cool-so-make-sure-you-dont-trust type. [Read more →]

Yes, my WordPress theme is now available!

It’s called “Simply Valid“, a huge thanks to Tobsy from BloggersJourney for coming up with this title. I think it fits really well :)

There are 2 versions to the Simply Valid theme, a light, white background version, and a darker one. Both CSS valid.

I’ve been working on that for a couple of days now, reading everything I could find about building a wordpress theme (I’m really used to customizing a theme, but building a new one is something I never really attempted before). There I was this morning, checking my e-mails, wanting to read what everyone had posted during the week-end. And to my surprise, everyone wrote about BlogRush. Well maybe not “everyone“, but of all the blogs I read, 27 wrote about BlogRush.

I signed up to BlogRush this week-end after reading about it on Zoomstart, it seemed interesting so I installed the thing, and now 3 days later, I realize that well… I haven’t received any traffic yet.

What Is It All About?

If haven’t heard about it yet (you haven’t????), BlogRush is a new traffic exchange service, created by John Reese who runs Income.com. John is like a super online marketer.

The idea is you sign up to BlogRush (which is free), install a widget on your blog, and then that widget will show links to relevant blogs. And your link appears on other blogs. Simply a traffic exchange service. The big difference I find is they’re “relevant” links, as opposed to many traffic exchange programs where you have no idea where the traffic comes from. A couple weeks ago I wrote a post titled Getting Rid Of The Middleman, and promised I would write a follow-up post on that. So here it is, short, but to the point! ;)

The idea was to put links for sale on Ebay, and see if it would work. Well the truth is it didn’t work. I got around 75 visitors to each of my Ebay auction pages (I had 3 different auctions, and all averaging 75-80 visitors, 7 days auction), which is ok. If you noticed, my last post was on the 26th of August. Yep, that’s 7 days ago. Nope, I didn’t go on vacation, and nothing was wrong with my hosting or anything, it was all right there working real fine, waiting for me to write something insightful, inspiring, meaningful and thought provoking.

I’ve been trying to write this post for the last 3-4 days (didn’t work, obviously), but I finally thought I’d just write something and hit publish. And not really try to write the best post I can, but just write.

I probably wrote over 40 or 50 posts on productivity, time-management and similar topics over the last 6 months, but even the best advices in the world didn’t help me this week, not even my own advices. That’s something, heh? :) [Read more →]
