They Really Don’t Want Me To Buy It I Guess

Hey, seems you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

There’s been a lot of talk about the new Radiohead album, “In Rainbows” on the net lately. The band decided it was time for a change, and decided to put the new album online, and let people pay whatever amount they want and download it or order discbox (40EUR). Awesome!

Will Cre8buzz Generate Buzz For You?

Cre8buzzYou may have heard about this new site, they were in private beta (invites only) and they just launched yesterday, it’s called Cre8buzz. I’ve been waiting for the launch since Antman told me about it, and finally they’re up and running, congrats to the team! (and thanks a lot to Ritu of Work N Play for the invite) :)

So What Is It Exactly?

Cre8buzz is basically a social networking/community site. You create a profile, add some details, a picture and voila! But the folks at Cre8buzz kinda pushed things a little further, and you can also add podcasts, blog posts, create a video gallery and customize the looks of your profile page. [Read more →]

Stop Abusing My Blog - Make Me Want To Trust You

Stop The AbuseToday is the “Blogging Against Abuse” day. The idea is to post something related to “abuse“, any type of abuse. This may sound a little vague, but on the other hand, that means whatever the type of blog you run, no matter what niche, you can participate and still stay on topic. :)

The “Stop The Abuse” idea came from the cool folks at BlogCatalog, and of course I had to join in, especially cause I think it’s a great idea, but I also have some things I want to share.

You meet a lot of nice people online, especially when you run a blog, but unfortunately you also meet the not-so-cool-so-make-sure-you-dont-trust type. [Read more →]

Why So Much Buzz Around That?

There I was this morning, checking my e-mails, wanting to read what everyone had posted during the week-end. And to my surprise, everyone wrote about BlogRush. Well maybe not “everyone“, but of all the blogs I read, 27 wrote about BlogRush.

I signed up to BlogRush this week-end after reading about it on Zoomstart, it seemed interesting so I installed the thing, and now 3 days later, I realize that well… I haven’t received any traffic yet.

What Is It All About?

If haven’t heard about it yet (you haven’t????), BlogRush is a new traffic exchange service, created by John Reese who runs Income.com. John is like a super online marketer.

The idea is you sign up to BlogRush (which is free), install a widget on your blog, and then that widget will show links to relevant blogs. And your link appears on other blogs. Simply a traffic exchange service. The big difference I find is they’re “relevant” links, as opposed to many traffic exchange programs where you have no idea where the traffic comes from. Kinda like a blogroll exchange but you don’t necessarily know those blogger… humm… [Read more →]

Corporate Meeting - Sounds Like Digg Traffic

For those of you who haven’t seen this video yet, here it is. ;)

Those folks made a video of a fake corporate meeting, but with a “blogging turned bad” twist (can you spot the trolls?)

Lookout for spam around the end, CAPTCHA is pretty effective I guess.

“when things turn bad in a comment section” - Video not suitable for everyone.

I’ve seen worse comments than the ones in the video on some posts on Digg. ;)

Content Theft - How I Recently Had To Deal With That

CopyrightI recently found out some blog copied one of my post without my permission, and without any credits or link. Least I can say is I wasn’t happy about that. I was thinking about writing a post to let people know about this, with details and everything, but honestly, after reading more on the topic, and the recent “DoshDosh vs SEOposition” thing, I’m not sure it would’ve been a good idea to go and write about that on here. As it would not have be relevant, and I prefer not to go there anyway.

Instead let’s see what can be done when you find out your content has been copied without your permission. Just remember I’m not a plagiarism/copyright expert. [Read more →]

Viral Tags - Viral Icons - Viral Links - Not For Me!

Just quick note to let you guyz know I’m not participating in any “viral” linking scheme… Please do not add my blog on any. I personally see no value in those and don’t have any interest in joining any viral thing or link train, and I don’t need to game the system to try to increase my technorati rank or whatever else people claim it will help with.

I don’t feel like I wanna turn my blog into some myspace-ish thing.

My readers, visitors and advertisers wouldn’t appreciate that, and I don’t think viral-whatever helps with anything anyway.

Thanks for your understanding. If you’re not sure or have questions about all this, please drop me a line or leave a comment below. :)

Starting Off Big?

As many of you know I’m working on a new blog, and of course I would love to launch this new blog and already have hundreds or even thousands of RSS subscribers and steady traffic. Wouldn’t that be awesome? I know I’m a very positive and optimistic guy, and I’ve been thinking a lot about what to do with that new blog (since I’m on a budget) to make it a successful one.

It’s not starting it that’s difficult, it’s keeping that new blog afloat. You need a plan in order to succeed. The launch is one thing, but it is important to have content, and get rid of the bugs, but that is common sense anyway. What can you do or use to make your new blog a big success right from the start? Meaning there’s already many articles published, it receives good traffic, and rss numbers are increasing steadily. You know, when you feel like a blog has always been there? That’s what I’m aiming for. [Read more →]

Where Can I Find You?

There is a ton and a half community sites out there, where you can create a profile, write a couple of lines about yourself, and start networking. I had a lot of people ask me what my StumbleUpon profile is, or my Blogcatalog (even though the widget is right there in my sidebar..!) page, or Netscape or Digg usernames.

So, here it is, a list of most of the community sites, social networking and bookmarking sites I belong to. But of course, the best place to look for if you wanna talk/chat with me, is right here, on my blog ;)

  • Stumble Upon
  • BlogCatalog
  • Mybloglog
  • Technorati
  • Bumpzee
  • Digg
  • Reddit
  • Flickr
  • Bloglines
  • Netscape
  • Del.Icio.Us
  • Twitter
  • Spicy Page
  • Now, Where Can I Find You?

Well, no need to list all that when replying to the post and writing your comment (unless you feel like it hehe), but let us know what community/networking/bookmarking site you use the most? I’m on blogcatalog quite often I should say, and I really like StumbleUpon. What about you?
