Yep, October 15 is Blog Action Day. A project started by Collis and Cyan of FreelanceSwitch and Leo of ZenHabits. There’s around 15,500 blogs participating (including the Official Google Blog and the YouTube Blog), pretty cool heh? :)

All of my earnings from SWR today will go to the World Wildlife Foundation/Save Our Climate. I donated money to the WWF before, and I think today is a great occasion to contribute again, and maybe help a little. Cause even “a little” helps. :) [Read more →]

If you noticed, my last post was on the 26th of August. Yep, that’s 7 days ago. Nope, I didn’t go on vacation, and nothing was wrong with my hosting or anything, it was all right there working real fine, waiting for me to write something insightful, inspiring, meaningful and thought provoking.

I’ve been trying to write this post for the last 3-4 days (didn’t work, obviously), but I finally thought I’d just write something and hit publish. And not really try to write the best post I can, but just write.

I probably wrote over 40 or 50 posts on productivity, time-management and similar topics over the last 6 months, but even the best advices in the world didn’t help me this week, not even my own advices. That’s something, heh? :) [Read more →]

Lists are extremely popular among bloggers, not only because of the links you can get from being on those lists, but also because you can discover new sites you would’ve never heard of otherwise. Many of the blogs on this list I read regularly, but I found a lot of new blogs also.

I’m a sucker for everything that has to do with personal development. So I had to join this project :)

I’m not a big fan of lists though, in fact I asked to have my blogs removed from a couple of lists that were floating around the blogosphere, but this is a list I’m particularily proud to be on.

My blogs are not necessarily about personal development, but I guess they fit on the list.

This was started by Priscilla Palmer, and already the list is quite long. Feel free to add to the list if you feel your blog or a blog you know would fit on there.

BloggersUnite Against Abuse - September 27th

Some time ago Tony at BlogCatalog announced a new “blogging challenge“, blogging against abuse, any kind of abuse. This will take place on September 27th. You can read about it on the official BlogCatalog Blog and on the Discussion Board.

The goal is to get as many bloggers as possible to post about “abuse” on the same day, and if some feel charitable, give some money to organizations (you choose which ones). It is easy to get discouraged if you see things are not moving as fast as you would’ve expected. Although it is normal sometimes, there are certain things you can do to speed things up.

Especially if we’re talking blogging, as it’s way easier today than it was 10 years ago to update a website, or move things around, and find an audience.

If you find things are not moving fast enough, you kinda have to ask yourself some questions. The first one would be “why?”. Yeah I know, hard to answer, since you’re so focused and “into it”. You just can’t see why it’s plateauing.

But, if you have a clear idea of what your goals are, chances are it’ll be easier to find answers to your questions. [Read more →]

Some of you already know I’m a guitar player, and I’ve been playing for 13 years now, and I’m now in the studio with my band recording an album that should see the day sometime this Fall. I learned so much playing in a rock band and with heavy acts, that it got me thinking about how can my experiences relate to my online business.

We all know how important it is to partner up with the right people, either in music or in business, it’s quite the same thing. When you spend most of your time with the same 3-4 people, working on songs, recording and rehearsing, you quickly realize how important it is you work with the right people. Have you heard about that plugin called “Buy Me A Beer“? It’s simply a nicer and cooler way of asking your readers to donate, instead of having a “donate” paypal button, which looks rather ugly anyway, the buy me a beer plugin does the same thing and it’s linked to your paypal e-mail adress which you can modify in the wordpress admin, so people can send you money. Or donations if you prefer, to thank you for writing those incredibly insightful and thought provoking posts! :)

Well, I do drink beer sometimes but I can afford to buy my own, so instead of buying me a beer, why not take that money and lend it to an entrepreneur in the developing world? How does that sound? [Read more →]

I like it a lot when I make a mistake and learn from it. You know, when you finally “get it” and start moving forward? That I like even more! Everything falls into place, energy flows, you feel more creative, and get more things done, in less time. It’s like a puzzle, sometimes you have to try and make mistakes in order to get it right the next time.

Money - My Greatest Distraction?

One mistake I made in the past, was to worry too much and too often about money. Especially when I quit my day job, almost 3 years ago, and started working on my own business(es). All the time spent worrying about money, was time not well spent. Time I could’ve used to do something else, something more constructive, more productive. To me, money was a distraction!
