Hey everyone, first thanks a lot for sticking with me, there are still around 500 people subscribed to this feed and I think it’s about time I give you some news (cool news this time)

2007 has been a kick-ass year for me. I started blogging, met a ton of cool people, launched another blog, got an album coming up soon with my band. It’s been a busy year, and I have a feeling 2008 will be even better.

My last post about dofollow was about a month ago, and as you can see SWR is still a dofollow blog. I’m really sorry it took me so long to write again on this blog, things have been pretty crazy (but a good kind of ‘crazy‘).

So What’s Going On?

A lot of things. Most of you already know I started a multi-author blog a couple months ago, thing are going really good. That’s keeping me very busy. And I’ve also been very busy designing and customizing blogs, and building my portfolio site, which is not yet fully functional but should be soon (I have no idea how it looks like in IE, I’m still working on it, but it should look ok in FireFox). Yep, October 15 is Blog Action Day. A project started by Collis and Cyan of FreelanceSwitch and Leo of ZenHabits. There’s around 15,500 blogs participating (including the Official Google Blog and the YouTube Blog), pretty cool heh? :)

All of my earnings from SWR today will go to the World Wildlife Foundation/Save Our Climate. I donated money to the WWF before, and I think today is a great occasion to contribute again, and maybe help a little. Cause even “a little” helps. :) [Read more →]

There’s been a lot of talk about the new Radiohead album, “In Rainbows” on the net lately. The band decided it was time for a change, and decided to put the new album online, and let people pay whatever amount they want and download it or order discbox (40EUR). Awesome!

Most of you probably already knew that David Airey was holding a contest on his Graphic Design Blog, to celebrate the fact his blog just turned 1. The contest is over, and with over $4,000 in prizes and 28 winners, it was definitely a success.

The reason I’m writing this, is because I was a sponsor in this contest. I told David I’d give 3 prizes:

Yes, my WordPress theme is now available!

It’s called “Simply Valid“, a huge thanks to Tobsy from BloggersJourney for coming up with this title. I think it fits really well :)

There are 2 versions to the Simply Valid theme, a light, white background version, and a darker one. Both CSS valid.

I’ve been working on that for a couple of days now, reading everything I could find about building a wordpress theme (I’m really used to customizing a theme, but building a new one is something I never really attempted before). There I was this morning, checking my e-mails, wanting to read what everyone had posted during the week-end. And to my surprise, everyone wrote about BlogRush. Well maybe not “everyone“, but of all the blogs I read, 27 wrote about BlogRush.

I signed up to BlogRush this week-end after reading about it on Zoomstart, it seemed interesting so I installed the thing, and now 3 days later, I realize that well… I haven’t received any traffic yet.

What Is It All About?

If haven’t heard about it yet (you haven’t????), BlogRush is a new traffic exchange service, created by John Reese who runs Income.com. John is like a super online marketer.

The idea is you sign up to BlogRush (which is free), install a widget on your blog, and then that widget will show links to relevant blogs. And your link appears on other blogs. Simply a traffic exchange service. The big difference I find is they’re “relevant” links, as opposed to many traffic exchange programs where you have no idea where the traffic comes from.
