Happy New Year - Long Overdue Update

Hey everyone, first thanks a lot for sticking with me, there are still around 500 people subscribed to this feed and I think it’s about time I give you some news (cool news this time)
2007 has been a kick-ass year for me. I started blogging, met a ton of cool people, launched another blog, got an album coming up soon with my band. It’s been a busy year, and I have a feeling 2008 will be even better.

News - Is SWR sold yet?
The short answer is yes.
For the long answer just read on…
When I decided to sell this blog it was basically to free up some time to focus more on Freelance Folder and on my music, I spent some time trying to figure out how much I could sell this blog for.
I asked around and my buddy Maki suggested I wait a couple days and then put it up on Sitepoint (thanks Maki, you rock!). But it turned out I didn’t need to do that…
I had a long chat session on Skype with my friend Liz Strauss, I explained her the whole thing (Liz is a gem!) and she told me she would like to help me find someone, the right person, to take on SWR.
A couple days later we talked on the phone and she said she found someone, great! And her name is Liz Strauss. :)
Yep, Liz is the new owner of SWR. If you don’t know Liz already (who doesn’t know her?) lemme tell you she is the most generous, kind and helpful person I’ve met since I started blogging. I’m really really happy to know SWR is in good hands. Welcome Liz!
What’s Next?
There are some things I cannot talk about right now, like the price of purchase and what are the plans for this site (no need to send me an e-mail), but I can tell you I’m currently working on a redesign (will write another post about that eventually), and I will still be around even though the site is not mine anymore. I will definitely write from time to time here.
So there it is, new owner, new goals :)

I must admit I was a bit saddened when you announced that you were selling the blog. I’ve been reading it for a long time now. But Liz is excellent. It’s good to see the blog will be in good hands.

At first when you broke the news I was kinda worried who was going to take over it. But now it certainly is a relief to know that Liz is purchasing it from you.
Like you said Liz is a gem. I have never talked to her or anything personally, but I have heard a lot about her from others and ofcourse from you.
Congratulations to you and Liz. SWR for sure is going to take off now. it started out at a right note and I am 100% sure Liz will take it to the next level. Once again congratulations!

You also made a great decision selling your work to Liz, from what I’ve read and heard she’s a good business woman.

Congrats. I’ve left a few blogs after they were sold. Their’s a post about blogs sold last year and their current alexa ratings compared to before. The biggest problem was that the new owner had a completely different style. People like blogs if they like the persons behind it. I’m glad you’ll continue writing to ease the transition.
