If Only I Could Read Just 5 Blogs!
Add to : Del.Icio.Us / Reddit / Digg / Stumble Upon
So here are the blog i would read if i could only read 5 (a little like “what would you bring on a desert island” kinda deal). Some of those blogs are well-established, some are fairly new, but all have a little something that makes me wanna read them every single day.

Performancing has been around for quite a while, and the quantity and quality of the content is surprising. It’s a “multi-author” blog. Yep, it’s about blogging, and helping other bloggers succeed online.

Entrepreneurs-Journey.com is one blog i keep close to the top of my RSS Feeds list, i always find useful information on there, as i wrote in an earlier post, one of the things i enjoyed the most about Yaros’ blog is his podcasts, which are well-done, in depth and informative, having a podcast is a big plus to any blog i think.

This, to me is a no-brainer! Not a day passes by that i don’t check out successful-blog.com. Blogging is all about relationships and networking, and Liz is definitely an expert in those fields. Just take a look at the numbers of comments she can get on some posts, it’s just crazy, some have more than 300 comments. There’s a lot to learn from Liz and her blog(s)! :)

Zoomstart is fairly new, I think Shane launched this blog back in January, but it’s amazing the number of posts he can write, and, the best part is… everything is on topic! Excellent writing style, and nicely branded blog! If i could read only 5 blogs, zoomstart would definitely be one of them!

Copyblogger is a must read for me. We can all use more copywriting tips and tricks, and Brian from copyblogger delivers. Oh and by the way, if you’ve been on copyblogger before, check out the new design, i think it rocks!
So, voila! Those are the 5 blogs i would read if i had to choose only 5 (which i hope will never happen, not that it took me long to come up with this list, but i just wouldn’t wanna have to choose for “real”). Those 5 blogs help me a lot in my blogging, networking, branding, marketing, and also money making activities! Check ‘em out!
Also, if you’re reading this, you can consider yourself tagged, and write a post on your blog and let us know what are the 5 blogs you’d read if you had to actually choose 5.
umm, maybe this post would qualify for probloggers’ group writing project! :)
Take care!
PS: the images/snapshots of the blogs i listed in this post, are, of course, copyrighted and property of the blogs owners.

cool - thanks for carrying it on.
Copyblogger has been a frequent stop for me as well. Hadn’t seen Performancing ’til your mention here.
thepaperbull, you’re welcome, i think this is a “worth writing” meme :)
Hi Jonathan,
The other day I was telling someone how concerned I was that the word relevant had fallen out of the blogosphere, especially when talking about linking. Then I came by to read you blog and your blog post was all about how things needed to be relevant. I almost called you to talk about it.
You’ve quickly made my list too. I say that with all sincerity. Thank you for your faith in me and my writing. As you can see the respect is mutual.
I can’t wait to meet you at SOBCon.
Wow!
Liz
Hey Liz, yeah i think the word “relevant” is one of the most important ones, too often people seem to forget about it… Liz i do have a lot of faith in you and your writing, you’re the one who helped me get my blog to where it is now, and what you write, your ideas always help me take my blogging a little further :) See you at SOBCon :)
What a tough meme to join. Now this may take some consideration, but let’s consider myself tagged on this one, I’ll try to compose one as soon as I get home.
But, great choices you have there Jonathan. Just excellent!
oops, before I go, a preliminary consideration would probably be the ones I list at http://6doi.net/technology/are-you-an-inspired-blogger.html where one of those bloggers (Liz) is actually on your list too…
Nicholas, can’t wait to read your post, those 5 blogs i listed on here are seriously a real source of inspiration for me! Looking foward to reading your post :)
Those are some great choices. Believe it or not, I’m pretty new to reading Performancing, but it is quite good. Zoomstart has a lot of potential I think. Shane has a clear authoritative style of writing and seems to have a lot of great business know-how!
Anthony, zoomstart is definitely one of my favorites. Performancing is one i read almost everyday, and since they started featuring new blogger, and hired a couple more people to write, seems i can’t keep up with the amount of quality posts they write hehe, Raj (who writes for performancing, and also tubetorial) is a blogger i respect a lot, quality writing and relevant. Also Ryan and Philipp are doing an awesome job! I miss Liz posts on performancing though :)
Some great blogs you have chosen there - I am a particular fan of Performancing. I don’t think a day has gone by when I haven’t learnt something new from that blog.
- Martin Reed
Hi Martin, yeah i think performancing is one of those blogs you just can’t not read. And they added so many great things like forum, blog reboot and wordpress themes. Great ideas! :)
Performancing, ZoomStart, and Copyblogger — excellent blogs for sure.
Hey Scot, excellent blogs indeed! I’m curious to know what would your picks! :)
HAHA … “everything is on topic!”
Just as I post my most off-topic piece to date. That’s classic.
Thanks, Jon. You’re definitely in my top 5! Along with copyblogger, and a few others which I’d have a lot of trouble choosing between.
I like Liz’s blog a lot.
Yaro’s is one I discovered a long time ago, and never bookmarked. I rediscovered it again recently, which is always cool.
Performancing is new to me. I’m gonna have to check them out.
:)
Hey Shane! haha yeah well sometimes it’s ok to be off-topic lol
It’s nice to know i’m in your top-5 hehe :)
haha, it would be really hard for me to choose 5 blogs to read. I have a folder in my bookmarks called ‘Blogs’ and I probably add on average 2 new ones every week. The list keeps getting longer.
Hey Gregg and Glenn! i know what you mean, i keep adding blogs to my RSS daily read list and usually end up either deleting some or reading only the top 10 or 15 :)
Glad I found your blog and glad for these referrals. Best wishes.
Hi AgentSully! welcome to SWR, please make yourself at home! Glad you liked the post!
I have at least 60 blogs in my RSS Reader. I try to read them almost daily (internet connection is a luxury at this small town where I live - dial up is the only option).
However If I can only read five blogs - they would be doshdosh, smartwealthyrich, steve pavlina, problogger, and seth godin. These blogs give me the inspiration to continue blogging.
Hey Calvin, doshdosh, stevepavlina, problogger ans seth godin are awesome blogs, i especially like doshdosh and seth godin! :)
By the way Calvin, i’ll send you the picture tomorrow, it’s been crazy lately! (which is always a good sign hehe)
I’m really proud of you Jon. You did exceptionally well lately - traffic shoot up, better pagerank, and probably making more money now. Envy you. About the pic - no hurry. I’ll be off for another trekking trip this week.
Ever heard of Gawai Dayak (harvest festival)? We will celebrate Gawai Dayak soon - on 31 May to be exact.
Wish you can come over to join the festival. It’s lot of fun - traditional dance performances, where you can trully enjoy Sarawakian hospitality at its best. Partying sometimes extend for days - nonstop - with free flow of drink (beer, wine, and traditional tuak) and food. It’s such a joyous occassion.
So I’m off to jungle again looking for games.
Hey Calvin, thanx a lto for the encouraging words! traffic going up, better pagerank, and on the “money” side, well i’m getting there, not yet a full time income, but working on it :)
I’ve nevver heard of Gawai Dayak, but it seems like loads of fun man! I’d definitely like to join you guyz! keep me posted Calvin! How are things going for you online-wise?
I know I am going to make one of these lists someday damn it :)
Hey Goldy! keep up the good blogging, you’ll get to that list! By the way, that New Orlean trip must have been awesome!
It was good fun Jonathan. A great city!

hehe yeah, i thought about adding problogger to the list, but you know, gotta make choices, problogger is a classic, i love it! But those 5 blogs are close to the very top of my RSS feed list, if it was a “top 10″ post i would’ve added problogger hehe (though Darren is one of my favorite blogger!)
I will add it to my list.
I thought problogger.net is the no.1 :)
Tantowi, welcome to SWR! i read your post (that’s a huge list at problogger!) keep on with the positivity! :)

I love Copyblogger. He’s definitely a great resource about writing great headlines which is uber important…. and great writing in general. Now that you think about it.. I also recommend Seth Godin. That man is a marketing genius but he’s also a great person to go to about building personal relationships in your business.
Brian from copyblogger write such great content, it’s not even funny. Seth is a master, no doubts there, I really liked his “broken” presentation.
I read a couple of these but I’ll add the others to my must read list.. nice place you have here! ;)
Snoskred
Hi Snoskred, thanx a bunch, make yourself at home :)
Great list. I’ll be sure to keep an eye on these ones more often. I was surprised I didn’t recognize a few of them.
Hi Zac, happy you found some new blogs to read on this list :)
Glad I found your blog. These are good references at getting my blog to more of a top notch level that they have already helped other blogs to become.
Hi Billy, I’m happy you found this useful, those are really good resources, enjoy! :)
