It’s So Cheap To Start A New (online) Business These Days!
Add to : Del.Icio.Us / Reddit / Digg / Stumble Upon
You have heard of Digg.com, right? If you haven’t, i urge you to check it out! It’s a social media site and overall success (and i’m weighing my words)! Many online entrepreneurs, bloggers, site owners will (try to) use Digg to attract visitors to their site(s). If you can get to the homepage of Digg, you can get loads and loads of traffic, and i mean, massive traffic!!
Well you know what? Kevin Rose (founder of Digg) spent only $200.00 to start Digg (hired a programmer through elance.com and he was on his way). Come on, 200 bucks to online stardom! It’s a real proof that a great idea can get you far, and that you don’t need millions to make millions.
Check out $200 to social media success from 901am.com.
So? You still think starting an online business is expensive? :)

Good insight Jon. Bang on.
Worry about the creativity and matching the right people with the right idea and the rest will take care of itself. I think too many people jump online and try to monetize the latest in-thing.
Build something you love. The money will come. Don’t and it won’t.
Yes and No.
It depends on the size and nature of your online business.
If you’re a good writer of some niche subjects you can probably not spend
any money to start a little business, for example—start a blog and throw in
lots of Adsense —well you’ve an online business going. The question is :
Will that earn you much ? I don’t think anyone can expect to earn big quickly
by doing something like this.
If you really want to go much bigger—say, come up with some kind of popular
“Membership Site”…Yes, you’ve to invest $$$…Quite a lot…
I know of a few very successful Affiliate Marketers making 5-figure monthly
incomes using 100% free article marketing to sell ClickBank products. They hardly
spend any money but time. Then again, how many can do that ?
Jonathan, you’ve very good writing skill. Perhaps you’re born with that talent.
Why not get into article marketing ? Sell ClickBank products….sell IMC info products
—sign in from my IMC site in my blog. I’m not joking. You’ve the talent.

Shane: good point there, “build something you love”. Just gotta make sure you love it enough to be willing to put in the effort to make it work (or hire the right person hehe)
Chee: Thanx a bunch for the kinds words! :) I do write articles, but i’m not marketing clickbanks’ products this way, instead i’m marketing my blog, which i make a decent revenue with, and which is growing steadily (so is the income).
Thing is a believe in creating relationships with readers and visitors, which is almost free, but takes times. But you have a point there, i think i’ll try that out, article marketing. i’m checking out your blog. I’ve heard and read a lot about Derek and IMC.
Thanx for the infos!
Chee: i signed up, checking out the affiliate center now. I’ll let you know how it goes and will soon start to work on that (gotta make some space in my schedule though)
Jonathan,
You’ve made a very wise choice. I can’t find anything to match IMC info products
as far as Affiliate Marketing is concerned.
So many ways to sell those products—blogging, article marketing, Bum Marketing,
Email Marketing ( some say it’s dead but I don’t think so. It’s how you build your
list that counts ), pay per click (Adwords, which is what I favor ‘cos I’m not good at
writing. So I choose to pay)….
It will take a long time to digest all the IMC info. You don’t really need to come up
with a specific site (as in my case–I’ve built one myself : http://www.scheeworldwide.com )–you can use mine as for info. When I sell I seldom quote my site url, instead I use the IMC affiliate url’s most of the time.
You require this site for a lot of reference (this is the IMC’s Golden Library, a lot of
our affiliates know nothing about its existence !) :

Very useful link.
Good luck.
Chee
P.S. When you receive your first IMC commission check don’t forget to buy
me a Starbucks coffee…lol…
Thanx for the resource link Chee! Being myself, i’ll probably build a site to promote IMC eventually, i like to send traffic to my own domains instead of helping increase the PR of others. :)
Will buy you a starbucks coffee as soon as i get my first check hehe
Hi, I agree it is now really cheap to set up a business, but it still takes a lot of time to make it a success. The web is an amazing place for answers too. You need information about your business idea and there is no shortage of people willing to help (free) in forums and communities - its amazing!
Hi Tara, welcome to SmartWealthyRich, make yourself at home.
It’s true, blog are a good source of infos, forums too, though i’m not really a “forummer”, i like the “feel” of blogs better, but you’re right, there’s a ton of free infos out there to help us start a new business or improve an existing one.
again, welcome :)
