New Bling Bling… er… Design I Mean!

This new design is still based on the Cutline theme, but it’s a modified 3 columns version. I wanted something cleaner and with more whitespace, and I think it does the job just fine. I tested the new design in Safari, Firefox and Opera on Mac OSX 10.4.9 and with Browser Cam for Windows OS and browsers, cause I don’t have access to a PC, so it is expected that there will be some minor bugs, which will be fixed if you let me know! :)
Tell me what you think, and if you find any bugs. Will try my best to fix them as soon as possible.
On a side note, the “blog jobs board” is now opened. Many people replied to a previous post regarding that. At first I didn’t wanted to have a forum on here cause of spam and time needed to manage it, but on ther other hand I think it’ll be a good addition, even though it may mean more work. There is a “blog jobs” section on there and also sections on Social Networks, Shameless Self Promotion, and other cool things. Please read the rules before posting. The forum will stay open if there is enough interest and participation, so feel free to use it, just don’t abuse it :)

I’m seeing the problem with the text at the bottom of the page in IE6. It looks great in IE7.
The second time I pulled it up in IE it looked fine. The design looks really clean and slick. What more can you say……Cutline.

The new design looks really good. Nice and clean. I was thinking about more white-space for my blog the other day. You can add a lot by taking some away sometimes.

Well, honestly I’m never saw myself as a designer, but I can definitely design a blog, either using the cutline or fastway theme (those are my 2 favorite themes, and I find both fun and easy to customize), drop me a line if you want and we can talk about that a little more.

Well the forum is the “Simple Forum” wordpress plugin, pretty easy to install, and looks ok right out of the box, but still needs some customization.
Love the new look, Jonathan! Clean, but efficient, and still plenty of room for content. Great job!

Love the new changes, especially the welcome note that appears to be tagged on a message board, really cool.
Just being a little picky, I can’t associate the green button with the white arrow on the header graphic, to your blog title though.
Otherwise, no problem loading and reading it on IE7.

About that arrow, honestly I just wanted something more simple, and the arrow kinda pointing up could represent where I wanna go, up ! without pointing straight up, to remind me of the obstacles. and it also kinda points to the name of the blog. I wanted something that would not make my blog fall into the “make money online” niche. But of course it’s all up to people to find what the arrow means for themselves. :)
I miss your photo on the homepage and posts, but you’ve still got it on your about page, so that’s good :)
I admire this theme for its simplicity and use of white space. You can display everything you want to, and the readers can receive it the way you want them to.. Great Choice!
Usually catch you on RSS but had to take a look. I love it, clean and simple yet you still manage to get all the widgets and navigation in on your sidebars. The pinned paper profile at the top is a great touch too, nice work ;-)

The copyblogger theme looks good too, designed by the same guy (Chris Pearson). I’m using Cutline, but it’s a modded version with 2 sidebars, and as you can see I modified the default theme quite a lot. I love cutline!
Nice work Jonathan. It’s definately different to what it was like before, and your sidebar seems to have a better structure. Probably because you have quite a lot of different sections, and it’s too much for one sidebar.

yep, white space rocks! I read somewhere that white webpages were not eco-friendly, since it takes more power/luminosity to display a white page, but still it looks clean.

Jon, the design of your site was one of the first things that caught my eye–and has kept me reading all of your past content. Very nice, clean, and efficient. I just moved over to Cutline myself a week or so ago, and have been reading up on how to mod WordPress themes. Did you make all the mods in one evening?
