Exactly How I Got a Stampede of Web Traffic: Dean Hunt wrote a guest post for the milkman recently, explaining how he took a “normal” post, modified it, and got on the frontpage of Digg in no time. Negativity can help you make it on Digg, no doubts there, it worked for Dean, might work for you too!
Those Glasses Aren’t Rose-Colored…: A positive, optimistic and motivating post from Adam. Are you wearing rose-colored glasses or is it more like toxic green? It is possible to see things from a more positive angle, and Adam asks just the right questions there.
Is it possible to keep your focus but still ‘mix it up’ on your blog?: Alister wrote an excellent post that got me thinking a lot (I like that). Should you keep your blog on topic all the time, or is it ok to mix things up a little? Alister implemented asides on his blog, and seems to work really fine for him (sorta like a twitter-ish thing before the posts, check out Alister’s blog and you’ll see that section with the links in green there)
Flagship Content Roundup: Some time ago Chris asked his readers to send him their “flagship content” posts, and tell him why they are pillar articles. And this is the roundup post, there’s a lot of great posts listed on Chris’s blog. If you’re wondering what flagship content is, this is definitely a good place to start.
Do you run wordpress? Aren’t you tired of seeing the same old “wordpress login box” when you want to sign-in? I just found out how to change this and customize the look of the login page on wordpress. David Airey wrote about this, and pointed to BinaryMoon. There is even a plugin for this! pretty slick! :) I will have to do this soon.
Hope you like those posts as much as I did, take some time to check ‘em out, and feel free to leave a comment below and lemme know what you think :)
Take care

Jon,
This is a great list of for reading. Thanks for taking the time to post them. One of them lead to make a post of mine own based on the subject of Anti-Mentoring.
It was a great post that lead me to post at my leadership blog http://www.theleadershipqualities.com .
Thanks again for keeping us up to speed with the postings.
John Clark
Hey John, awesome, Shane’s post is great, in fact not only this one is great, but all of his posts are (does it show I’m a big fan of Zoomstart? now Shane, you owe me 20 bucks! kidding :) )
Thanks for the mention. I am glad you enjoyed my buzz marketing series.
Ref the flagship content: I have done a spoof version entitled: Flagshit content.

Thanks again for the kind words.
Dean
Hey Dean, haha flagshit content! That post on Digg traffic was awesome, will try to see if I can make this work for my blog. ;)
Hey Jon,
I really enjoyed Alister’s post about focus vs. mixing-it-up. This is something I’ve been thinking about the last several weeks. I’m convinced you can do both, but it takes a lot of practice to temper your “voice”.
I also enjoyed John Clark’s post (Thanks John!). It’s always cool when someone gets a spark from something you’ve written and adds to the conversation.
Shane, it’s all about the conversations :)
Alister’s post is great, although I think I’m already mixing-it-up pretty much hehe
I enjoyed reading Dean Hunt’s post about modify posts to go viral, but the problem is monetizing posts like this. Digg users in general are too savvy to click adsense ads or affiliate links. Though digg can get you massive traffic, it’s not particularly targeted.
Hi Joe, I agree, same with StumbleUpon and other social networking sites, of course you will get more ad clicks, but chances aree your bandwidth bill will be higher too so. :)
Thanks for the mention, Jon — glad you liked it.
I find so much of how we experience like depends on the lenses we’re looking through.
Thanks again.
Hey Adam, you’re very welcome bro!
I usually try to look at things wearing my “green colored glasses” , but not “toxic-green” more like “nature-green” :)
Thanks for the resources Jon. I like the fact that you link to some blogs that not everyone has seen before. It’s good to find new sources of information.
Hi Steven, thanx, happy you like the posts. I like to share some link love sometimes (and usually feel like it on Sundays hehe) ;)
