Smart Posts Worth Reading #9

Increase Your Search Engine Rankings By Deep Linking: Raj wrote another excellent article on his blog, on the topic of deep linking and the effects of deep linking on search engine rankings. Raj suggests linking to older posts in every single new one you write, which is something I know I should do more often.

Everyone Loves an Underdog: Good job on this one Shane! It’s true everyone loves an underdog, reading that post got me thinking of my businesses. And I love when a post makes me think like that. :)

Seeing the World Through Entrepreneurial Eyes: The more I read this blog the more I like it, and this post Christine wrote is simply brilliant. I really liked this part “Entrepreneurs love talking about ideas, nothing kills forward motion like a naysayer” - This is so true! I can totally relate to this post, as everything I do usually turns into a business at some point, and music is no different.

Freelancing Is For Suckers: This is the second post in the serie “Hierarchy of the Successfully Self-Employed“. Really a great read. I thought I was a freelancer, but Independent Contractor sounds pretty good to me! :)

Attention Splatter: The Top Ten Cleaning Solutions: This is the 3rd post of the serie “Attention Splatter” Christine is writing. The “Top 5 Culprits” post is also a really good read. Excellent posts for all of us multi-tasking and working on a thousand things at once. It’s pretty easy to get distracted, isn’t it? :)

Interviewed!

On a side note, I got interviewed by Tyler from Web Goodness! I so love interviews! Thanx for the opportunity Tyler! :)

Awards - Don’t You Like To Receive Awards?

Thinking Blogger AwardRob awarded me with the Thinking Blogger Award, Thanx a bunch Rob! You’re a thinking blogger yourself!

Lisa also awarded me with the “Power of Schmooze” award! How cool is that? Thanx a lot Lisa! Sorry it took so long for me to write about it, but here it is, finally! hehe :)

  1. “Attention splatter”

Ha - that pretty much describes my world for the last couple weeks!

  2. Hey Shane, hehe, same for me, I constantly have to remind myself I have to focus :)

  3. I just had to read Tony’s article on freelancing. Thanks for mentiong it, Jon. He certainly makes a good point.

  4. Hi David, Tony’s post is great, I can totally relate to it!

  5. If you use Wordpress related posts plugin you can get the same “deep linking” effect.

  6. Hi Buxr, you’re right, I’ve yet to install this plugin, but I guess I should do that soon, it’s a great way to let people know about older posts. On the other hand linking to older relevant articles in the post is also great, since people who read the articles/post might click on links in there and not necessarily on links at the bottom of the posts. :)

  7. Hey Jon - Thanks for the mention.

  8. You’re welcome Tony, those are great posts, really enjoyed reading them! :)

  9. Some really great posts Jon, I stumbled your post and each of the posts you mentioned.
