The Power Of Deep Linking

But you probably want to have people look at some older posts! Your older posts are certainly interesting and can be useful to people! So when you write a new post, why not think of your older ones? If you can, simply link to it in your new post, find an older post that is relevant to the one you’re writing now, and link to it with relevant anchor text!
For example, if i was to write a post about blog earnings and revenues, i would definatly link to an older post of mine called “making money with your blog?“. (relevant post and relevant anchor text) And you can also setup a “top posts” page, which makes it easier for your visitors and readers to find the most popular and most commented posts on your blog!
Remember, a lot of people are reading your site using feed/news readers, so you might want to point them to older posts (relevant posts that is!)
By the way search engines loves deep linking!
That’s it for now! Take care! And feel free to comment and reply! Make this interactive and fun! Comments are always appreciated and read! :)

Working on a new entrepreneurial project has been taking up a lot of my time, so it’s been a while since I’ve read your blog…this is the first read of what will be all the one’s I’ve yet to read.

Great post about deep linking here. I try to implement deep links in my posts, and at least 2 relevant outside links (e.g. to Smart Wealthy Rich) that usually draws in the first commenters, and gets the ball rolling I’ve found. For some reason that first comment is always the hardest!
Well keep writing great content…off to read your other posts I’ve missed…REALLY MISSED!
I know what you mean… it’s like you have a great post, it gets great comments and has some really useful content and then…. after a while, it fades into the archives forever and ever …….. never again to be useful to another person who might really need it.
Deep linking is a wonderful way to revive all-time great posts, so the links become visible.
Also, the posts will not be hidden so deep on the site that the spiders will not find them!
Cool idea, Jon.
Hey Bryan! It’s always ok to be busy buddy!, That means things are moving foward! :)
Hi Rk! Thanx a lot! Hey looking foward to reading more celebrity gossips on your new blog! hehe
I implement a rather novel browse by related imagery after every post that is proving extremely effective in keeping older posts visible - (you may want to take a look).
Hey Andrew, that is a great idea! And it looks good too! Is this some sort of plugin publicly available? Or a custom made thing?
Hi Jonathan,
It’s a mixture of the two (adapting things with a little PHP - and not being into PHP it took a little experimentation! lol).
I really wanted to come up with something ‘unique’ for the site and being art trained I know that imagery attracts so committed myself to making it work.
The result can be seen in my ‘whats being read now’ section of the sidebar, with readers delving deep into related content across categories.
Glad you like it. :-)
Andrew, I like it a lot! :)
Have you though about releasing a public version of this? I’m sure a lot of people would like it! But of course your blog as a really unique feel to it, so you might want to keep this a private script! :)
