We All Want 1.2 Million Visitors Per Day!

But i just thought i would ask anyway: What would you do with 1.2 millions page views per day? You’d probably switch from your virtual shared hosting service to a dedicated server! OK, but what else? :)
How would you monetize that much traffic? Same if you own a traditional brick and mortar type of business, what would you do if suddenly, your store was crowded with 500%/1000% more potential customers? You would like to benefit (profits!) from that traffic, wouldn’t you?
Of course if you get 1.2 million page views, you obviously worked pretty hard (or smart) for that to happen, and you surely know how to monetize your traffic (i hope you do!). But you have to plan in advance, and make adjustement along the way. Do you have a plan for your blog/business, you have goals?
What if suddenly your project works like crazy and you are overwhelmed with new prospects… are you prepared for that? it would be interesting to know what other people think about that? If anyone has a business plan, it would be nice if you’d like to share it, or share your thoughts on how you would deal with that type of situation.

Not quite 1.2m a day, but.. one of my sites achieved 600k page views per day (25 per user) back in the old days (2001-2002).
It cost a fortune in bandwidth back then, from $2k a month to $5k, and because internet advertising was at a low point at that time: it was too costly to keep alive.
Bandwidth is a lot cheaper these days so it wouldn’t be much of a problem and it’s easier than ever to make money from advertising.

Yeah no doubts there, $2k-$5k…. what kinda site was it? Do you think it would be possible to grow a site to this size again in 2007?

I think my blog is in such a narrowly focused niche that there aren’t even 50,000 people who’d be interested in reading it in the world. I need to start a new maintstream blog that hasn’t already been done a billion times over.
