Will Cre8buzz Generate Buzz For You?

You may have heard about this new site, they were in private beta (invites only) and they just launched yesterday, it’s called Cre8buzz. I’ve been waiting for the launch since Antman told me about it, and finally they’re up and running, congrats to the team! (and thanks a lot to Ritu of Work N Play for the invite) :)
So What Is It Exactly?
Cre8buzz is basically a social networking/community site. You create a profile, add some details, a picture and voila! But the folks at Cre8buzz kinda pushed things a little further, and you can also add podcasts, blog posts, create a video gallery and customize the looks of your profile page.
If you could cross all major social networking/community/blogging sites like Facebook, Myspace, Blogcatalog and Mybloglog, you’d probably get something like Cre8buzz. So far I really like it. And it’s not just for bloggers, but also for artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, and they have categories like: sports, science, outdoors, games and many more. :)
Suggestions?
The first thing I noticed was when adding friends, you can either “add a contact“, or “become friends“, and also “add to favorites“. I find those to be a little too similar. But that’s just me! ;)
Of course there are some minor bugs like you’ll see on the following image (although it’s no big deal):
But apart from that I think it’s really well structured and well designed, lots of options, of course since Cre8buzz allows you to customize your profile, the default theme looks a little plain, and it’s up to the users to do something with it! :)
Do I Like It?
Yep I do! I still haven’t got around to customizing my profile and adding videos, podcasts and images, but I’ll definitely spend some time on the site and try out all the different features. I especially like the fact you can customize the look of your profile page, and ya know, it’s a new site, so it’s always nice to be there in the begining, build a profile and all.
Will it help you generate some buzz around your site? I’m sure it could. Just like with any other social networking site, you have to be active on the site, the more people who sees your avatar and visit your profile the better. :)

I’m wondering, when you join a social networking or community site, what are you looking for? Is it the number of active users the site has, the features available, the design, or is it because all your friends are on there?

I don’t have an account yet, as this is the first I’ve heard of it. I did head over to worknplay though, and asked for an invite. If I get one I’ll check it out more thoroughly.

hiii im pretty new to cre8buzz!! i already managed to costumize my page and i started seeing some traffic coming from there to my blog!! still little traffic but the many members the better i guess and cre8buzz is still pretty new! i guess there’s a lot of improvements to make and im glad im there!!
Jon - you are truly the master of social networking - where do you find the time?! This is very cool… If you had to pick just one or two social networks to be a part of, which would you choose?

Christine, where I find the time? humm, well time is just an “idea” if you ask me :) I really wouldn’t be able to choose only 1 or 2 sites, the bigger sites like Digg and SU can get you massive traffic, but I find smaller sites to be really nice too. I like sites that have lots of features, community sites like BlogCatalog, or Cre8Buzz where you have a forum, groups and many features. Some sites may not bring in thousands of visitors like Digg or SU or Shoutwire, but I like the fact you can actually network with people (not at random) but I could go on and on about this topic hehe (idea for a post :) )

Technorati? I have no idea, sometimes they’re down or they’re buggy (kinda weird for a company that size, but oh well..), I got an “authority” of 977, with 3600+ blog reactions and a rank in the 2.300 range though :) Woah when you look at it that way, it’s pretty cool! numbers! hehe
Yes, it was pretty easy to rank in beta. I am currently #1 in entrepreneurs. I am glad to see it has grown to 36 people there.
The templates are very configurable, using css. Fun to play with.

Wow this looks like another idea to group things together and drive some traffic to your sight. Thanks for the heads up, I am looking forward to getting an invite and making use of it. I have just started blogging so I am searching everywhere for new ideas.
Hehehe, seems like those kinda sites get quite popular. Just last week a friend invited me to a site like that. The funny thing about it is that I signed up but can not remember the name of the site right now. I guess there are too many of those social networking pages out there.

I joined Cre8buzz weeks ago while it was in beta, and I didn’t particularly care for it. I think one of the reasons is that I was getting entirely too much email from the site. I did get some traffic to my blog, which was nice, but that traffic wasn’t worth the all the things I didn’t care for.

Wow, I didn’t know anything about Cre8buzz until now. I guess I’ll have to wait until they open up the site for all of us.
still haven’t use any social networking sites yet. maybe i haven’t explore it thoroughly to get the ideas how to make use of them. most of the time been looking for web content, hang out on forum and read so many emails.
I will give a try and see what happen :)

Looks like there is an influx of social networking sites these days. But on the other hand, the number of active members is relatively constant. In my case, I think I should remain with the ones that I have signed up for so far.
Do they have any apps for opensocial? This could be something that becomes larger than facebook app.
They are trying to enter a very, very competitive sector. I wish them all the best but most social sites it not about how good you are it about getting critical mass, which is very hard to obtain. I hope they have deep pockets.
