Yep This Is Me! - The Face Behind The Blog

Some of you may already know I really like it when I can see a picture of the person behind a blog. And I strongly believe it makes a blog more credible and fun to read, when you can actually “see” who is writing. Which is the reason why I have that picture of me ~~right there at the top of my sidebar~~! (*edited: picture is now on my about page since I released my new design in June)

Some people will disagree, and will never put a picture of themselves on their blog(s), which is real fine with me, but when I have to actually “spend time” trying to find a picture of the writer/author of the blog, or can’t find the name of the person behind the blog, chances are I won’t return.

David Airey got a really (really) nice idea, and I figured it was time for me to join in on this “Face Behind The Blog” collection/group posting. I really enjoyed reading the posts from other bloggers and friends, Dawud Miracle, The PaperBull, Drew McLellan, Dave Olson, Wendy Piersall, Randa Clay, so here’s mine!

Of course, since I already have a picture of me at the top of my sidebar, and have a couple of pictures on my about page, I thought I could post different pictures.

If you already know me a little, you know I’m a musician (you can find more infos on my personal blog), I spend a lot of time in the studio recording guitar tracks and working on the album, and I’m also a guitar teacher, so, of course, I have lots of pictures from the studio, sessions and rehearsals.

This one was taken in Toronto in October 2006, we were nominated for the Toronto Independant Music Awards, and got featured in the “The Eye Weekly” newspaper. The funny thing is, we’re not even from there, and shouldn’t have been nominated since it’s only for bands from Toronto, and we’re from Montreal! haha that was pretty funny! :)

This is a picture I took myself (and it shows), my friend Calvin, who lived in Bintulu Malaysia, sent this gift to me, it is called an “Ajat” (the bag you see on the picture), which is made of rattan. It is beautiful! Hey I met Calvin through blogging, isn’t that awesome?

This next pic was taken at SOBCon07, this is a picture of me and the one and only Phil Gerbyshak. Come on, how can you not like this guy? The most smiling blogger i know! :)

I have a lot more pictures, from before I bought my first digital camera (wow, that’s a long time ago), but don’t have a scanner, so makes me think I should probably get one eventually.

So, show me pictures! I like to see who’s behind the blogs I read everyday! :)

You can check out some guitar videos on my other blog (www.jonathan-phillips.com), it’s not updated as often as I’d like to, still have around 30GB of videos to edit, but I’m getting there!

Have not been dropping by due to work, but glad to see that your site is still ROCKING!

Yes. you are absolutely right to say that a picture does wonder to your credibility. It definitely beats one that doesn’t have a picture.

It’s been proven that a sales copy performs better with a picture of the seller in it than one without.

For my own blog, I’m content with the cyclops’s picture for now. Some readers have even identify me with it and grown used to it. Maybe next time I’ll put my real photo in. We will see.
